Wallace’s Missionary Prayer Letter April 1, 2016 (Feb. ‘15 – Mar. ’16)
Dear Pastors, Churches & Friends,
April 1, 2016 (Feb. – Mar. ’16)
Jesus said in Matthew 6:20 & 21, “But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven… For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” Colossians 3:2 says, “Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.” Oh what eternal blessings are reserved for us when our hearts & affections are on the things that matter most to God – the souls of men. Hallelujah! Love is the root of missions, and sacrifice is the heart of missions. For the love for souls, missionaries sacrifice to go. For the love of souls, churches sacrifice to pray and support missions. Glory to God!
In the last couple months we have been in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, and West Virginia. It is hard to believe that it is Spring already. It won’t be much longer until our furlough is over and we will be back in the mega-metropolis of Mexico City. We are “home sick” and ready to return there. Amen! While in the United States, we were glad to see a little snow this winter with mild temperatures, but we were also glad that it wasn’t severe. Our bodies have got accustomed to the weather in Mexico. We have tried to be a blessing to the churches that we have been in while here in the United States by reporting on what God is doing on the mission field. I must say, however, that we have also been blessed to see what God is still doing in the churches of our homeland. Praise the Lord!
We would really appreciate your prayers for us as we are making preparations for our return back to Mexico City. When we get there, we will have to find a new place to live and a building for the new church. A safe & secure place for both are so important. We will have to re-furnish the place we will be living in with furniture as well as furnish the church with its contents. We will need the right vehicle for Mexico City and we’re praying about that – smaller vehicles are the most practical with traffic & parking, but we could use a large vehicle with a better suspension (possibly a 15-passenger van) for a bus/van route, as well as to take materials & supplies to Mexico City. We are making plans now to purchase spanish materials such as hymnals, tracts, Sunday school curriculum, VBS items, Bibles, baptismal robes, etc., here in the U.S., and we will purchase the larger items (i.e. pews, chairs, pulpit, audio equipment, etc.) in Mexico City. Once we get settled, we would gladly receive visitors who would like to make a missions trip. Pray also for things to go well later this year as we nationalize our vehicle and get our permanent residency. Please pray for our remaining travels & meetings here, and for us to be able to be the encouragement & witness that the Lord would have us to be.
We are so very grateful for those who support us and/or pray for us. Thank you! We appreciate your generosity & sacrifice, and we know God will reward you for it. If there is something specific we can join you in praying about about, feel free to let us know. We would be honored to join you in prayer. If there is anything else we could do to be a blessing or encouragement, just let us know as well.
“Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you.” (2 Thes. 3:1) We are “…your servants for Jesus’ sake.” (2 Cor. 4:5)
