Dear Pastors, Friends and Family,

Greetings in Jesus’ Name from Mexico City! It is so great to be able to send a prayer letter from the mission field again, though we enjoyed our furlough. It was so good to be with a few new churches, some supporting churches and with family, but we are glad to be here at “home.” The members of Hope Baptist Church were glad to see us again. While we were on furlough, they continued getting the gospel out regularly, seeing souls saved, baptized and attending the church. Pastor Alvaro discipled new believers and families, with other family members getting saved occasionally during the discipleships. Mary & I were able to find a nice apartment. Our area on the west side of the city is so large & growing, and that is one reason it was so hard to find a place. Being back in Mexico is like being in another world compared to the United States. Anything having any value must be locked, even plumbing fixtures in public bathrooms, but toilet seats are normally stolen. We were in Mexico City for just one day before someone hacked my credit card. I carry a RFID wallet and am careful, but people are experts in stealing here. We left our van in Texas while we came to look for an apartment. We used Uber a lot and got to witness to many drivers. Some Uber drivers also run drugs. These taxis can be distinguished by the death saint (Santa Muerte) relic usually hung from the rearview mirror. It is amazing how much more demonic our area has become. I often see in businesses, strands of garlic to ward off evil spirits as the people falsely believe. A couple newly saved families asked me if I would come to their homes and help them remove Santa Muerte altars. It reminds me of what the new believers in Ephesus in Acts 19:19 did after they got saved. Many of our church members have remained faithful over the years, but it is encouraging while out ministering to run into those that have been saved over the years and admonish them to come to church. Mary and I have enjoyed witnessing again back in Mexico City. We were out with the church recently, and I met 22-year-old Hiram as he was working in a carpentry shop. He told me he had a family member that was a Christian. After sharing the gospel with him, he trusted Christ as his Savior. We love going to the open-air markets, too. We can get out so many gospel tracts and they are so gladly received. I have to go this month to pick up 100,000 Chick tracts that I had shipped to another church four hours away. While out in the streets recently, Mary had the opportunity to witness to a lady named Rosa. With Bible open, Mary shared the gospel with her. Rosa then allowed Mary to sit down next to her as she prayed, asking Jesus to save her. We are excited to get back in the ministries that God has given us in this area like that of three drug & alcohol addiction centers and the Jewish outreach, to mention a couple. One of our favorite ministries is that of the orphans. God has given us three orphanages to minister in weekly. Mary’s music is what helps get us in, but then we are able to share the gospel. Mary’s music, which is mostly about the gospel, is being heard on various platforms all over the world including muslim countries. We trust that as time goes on, we will get into other orphanages and drug & alcohol addictions centers. There are a few young ladies planning to come for an extended stay in 2027 to help with our orphan ministry.

Please continue to pray for our health & safety. In just a week here in Mexico City, I got a bad sinus infection due to the pollution, but we are so thankful for our good doctors here. I saw my Jewish otolaryngologist and God used him to help me. We have witnessed to him before and hope he gets saved. I have needed hernia surgery but postponed it until we got back here. I may have it done this month. We appreciate your prayers & support and can’t thank you all enough. Thanks for everything. We are praying for you all, too.
