Wallace’s Missionary Prayer Letter December 1, 2025 (Oct. ’25 – Nov. ’25)

Posted on December 3rd 2025

Dear Pastors, Friends and Family,
December 1, 2025 (Oct. – Nov. ’25)

I hope all you that are my fellow veterans had a good Veteran’s Day. It was nice to be in the U.S. for this occasion. I enjoyed being able to witness to veterans last month. As Christians, we should witness to everybody, but it is often easier to gain confidence of someone when we can personally relate to them. Mary and I were both raised Catholic which has been helpful in Mexico. We all have other common relations to others like where we were born & live, what we studied in school, where we worked, as well as struggles we’ve had and even our hobbies. Jesus told His disciples in that He would make them fishers of men.

Sometimes we can become better spiritual fishermen if use the right “bait” by relating our experiences to others. Such was the case last month when I witnessed to a veteran named Adam. He was not just a veteran, but like me, served both in the Army and in Field Artillery. That got talking about physical things easy and made it easier to ease into the gospel. Many Latinos are surprised when Mary & I, two gringos, start talking to them in fluent Spanish. What a joy it has been for us to see some saved on furlough as we quickly relate to people. The command to witness, however, is that we not be selective but witness to all.

We trust you all had a Happy Thanksgiving. Speaking of that, we are so very thankful for you all and appreciate your prayers, support, help & encouragement. If the Lord tarries His return for several more weeks, we hope you all have a Merry Christmas.

Furlough continues to go well. The last two months we have been in Missouri, Alabama, Colorado, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Mississippi. Every meeting is a blessing, but I want to highlight a few of them. We love seeing family which is one of the benefits to furlough. Our son, Joseph, lives in Mississippi, and we got to see him & his family in October. His second oldest son, Everest, trusted Christ as Savior and was then baptized the following Sunday. We were able to be with my son-in-law, Mark Martinez, our daughter Hannah and their family in Colorado in November. We were also able to be a part of their church’s Mission Conference. What an encouragement to see how God is using them and their church. In Mexico City we pass out close to 100,000 tracts per year, as well as lots of John-Romans. While at one Mission Conference in West Virginia, we were able to help assemble John-Romans. It was a blessing to experience being on the producing end of that ministry for a change and not just the distribution end in Mexico. We were also able to be at our home church, the First Baptist Church of Kenmore in Akron, Ohio in November. Our home church celebrated their 106th year anniversary as a church last month. Things continue to go well at our church in Mexico City in our absence. Since we wrote you two months ago, another Drug & Alcohol Addiction Center requested our church in Mexico, Hope Baptist Church, come to minister. My assistant pastor, Alvaro, went and preached the gospel. Nine men there trusted Christ as their Savior that day and 8 were baptized. Hope Baptist Church continues to stay busy knocking doors and in the open-air markets witnessing. As a result, we continue to see people saved there and many come to church. There continues to be much unrest in Mexico City recently. I am on Mexico City’s U.S. Embassy alert group and recently have received many alerts warning of protests, etc. Though we have enjoyed being in the U.S., we miss Mexico City very much and are excited to get back there next year. Please pray for Mary’s music which she has been working on for 45 years. Recently, she has made it available in solo sheet music and choirs books. There is very much interest in Spanish speaking countries allowing Mary to give all proceeds (except tithes) to support two orphanages monthly. The music is being prepared for orchestras now. God bless and take care. Thanks. We are “…your servants for Jesus’ sake.” 2 Corinthians 4:5. Attached below are some photos.
