Wallace’s Missionary Prayer Letter October 1, 2025 (Aug. ’25 – Sep. ’25)

Posted on September 22nd 2025

Dear Pastors, Friends and Family,
October 1, 2025 (Aug. – Sep. ’25)

Greetings in Jesus’ Name!  Furlough is going good. The past two months we have been in Missouri, New York, Ohio, Alabama and Mexico. We were able to help at a church’s VBS in Missouri. It was a good time. Mary & I were able to lead five older children & teenagers to the Lord. Others were also saved. While in the same town, Mary was asked to speak at a women’s nursing home and spoke on salvation. Afterwards, while saying goodbye, a lady there in her 70s named Phylis spoke with Mary, as another lady in her 90s named Ellen listened. Phylis said, “I have never heard anything like that from the Bible about the need to be born again to go to heaven.” She then said, “I am going to think seriously about that tonight.”  Mary then said, “Why don’t you think about it seriously right now with me.” Then Mary shared the gospel with Phylis & Ellen, and they both trusted Christ as Savior.

Last month we returned to Mexico City for a short visit for the purpose of being with our church that we planted, Hope Baptist Church, to celebrate the church’s 10th anniversary. It was a wonderful time. We just got back to the U.S. about a week ago. Normally the U.S. Embassy issues travel warnings for certain countries, and in Mexico’s case, often specifically for certain states in Mexico. But while we were there, they issued detailed warnings for U.S. citizens in Mexico City due to the recent targeting of Americans. There was much unrest there which was the case when we left in July. We are happy to report that Hope Baptist Church is doing very well in our absence. Since we left Mexico in July, our church has seen people saved, baptized and several new families joined the church. It has been Mary & my desire to someday start another church in the same side of Mexico City. We are praying if the Lord tarries and wills, that when we return from furlough, we might be able to start another church. While in Mexico, apart from the church services, we were able to be in all three orphanages. All of them had some new orphans since were were last there. We are excited and hopeful in time after loving on them and sharing the gospel, that these new orphans  will be saved, too, as have the others. What a joy it was, too, to be out witnessing again in Mexico and knocking doors with our church, seeing a couple people saved. The anniversary service went well, and we had about 120 in attendance. We had several first-time visitors. Two were saved that day in church after I preached the gospel. There names are Victor and Esperanza. We also had a baby dedication for little Sofia. Four generations of the family were present that day for the dedication. The great grandparents, Heriberto & Maria de Jesus; grandparents, Oscar & Veronica; and parents, David & Guadalupe, have all be saved in our church over the years. Now begins the next generation with little Sofia.  That is what it is all about; yes, reaching individuals, winning them to Christ, but in the process, building strong Christians families to help the church grow strong. Upon returning from Mexico City, we had a meeting in Tennesse, then headed to West Virginia to be in a Mission Conference at another church, sharing the gospel along the way. In early October we go back to Missouri to be in another Mission Conference. Then, also in October, we will be in Alabama with family, where we will have a couple meetings, then off to Colorado to be with our daughter & her family, where we will also have a few meetings. Good news … our last unmarried child, Stephen, our youngest, is engaged to be married next year. We are so happy for him and Peyton. Of course we will be making plans for a short visit back to the U.S. next Fall for the wedding.  Please pray for Mary & I in our furlough travels. Please pray also for Hope Baptist Church in Mexico City. We sure appreciate the prayers & support of you all and we are praying for you all, too. Thanks for everything. I am attaching two pages of recent pictures.  God bless and take care.  We are “…your servants for Jesus’ sake.” 2 Corinthians 4:5.
