Wallace’s Missionary Prayer Letter February – March 2012 (April 5th, 2012)

Posted on April 5th 2012

Pastors, Churches, Friends & Family,

Greetings in Jesus’ Name!  Spring has officially sprung, and it is 92 degrees here as I write this letter.  We continue our intensive school studies of Spanish which will end for us next month.  Actually, our studying of the language will probably continue for a while with the help of a tutor and personal studies.  Daily practice & use of the language in the ministry and in our personal lives helps a lot. We have learned much but please keep praying for us.

We are very grateful for all of the prayer, support, and encouragement that we receive from so many.  We praise the Lord for His faithfulness through you all.  Let me just say, if you or your church has special prayer requests, we would love to know about them so we can pray specifically for you all as you do for us. Just send a quick email (wallaces2mexico@yahoo.com) and we will do for you as you do for us.  Paul said about this matter in 2 Corinthians 1:11 “Ye also helping together by prayer for us, that for the gift bestowed upon us by the means of many persons thanks may be given by many on our behalf.” Praise the Lord!  It is a blessing to be able to help one another through prayer.

What a great open door we have here at this time to continue to see Latino souls saved.  One such sweet case was when I was privileged to lead 10-year-old Carlos to Christ a couple weeks ago.  Glory to God!  I was so careful to be sure he was really ready and he was.  Afterwards he said, “I feel different, almost like a weight is lifted and I could almost fly. Thanks!” Feelings are not necessary at salvation, but this fellow was so excited to be born again.  I have knocked many doors over the years in different parts of the U.S., and though some listen, we have seen these dear people here are very receptive.  What a blessing that many are also getting baptized and discipled.  Hallelujah!  Even though evangelism may not be easy in other places, it is still commanded of us to do so.  Amen!

A 7.9 earthquake was felt in Mexico City last month.  Fortunately only a couple people died and not many were injured.  There was some damage and loss of municipal services for a short time.  Many of these physical natural disasters are related to the spiritual condition of people.  Earthquakes may just be enlarging of hell to make room for more lost souls.  Isaiah 5:14 says, “Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it.” See also verses 15 & 16.  Psalm 18:7 says “..the earth shook and trembled; the foundations also of the hills moved and were shaken, because He was wroth.”  What an urgency we have to get the gospel out now to the world before it is eternally too late.

Please pray for the upcoming elections in Mexico this July that God would use officials to help with the terrible drug cartel problem.  “Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the world of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you.” (2 Thes. 3:1)  We pray for you, too.  We are your servants for Jesus’ sake (2 Cor. 4:5).
