Wallace’s Missionary Prayer Letter – February and March 2008

Posted on February 8th 2008

Pastors, Church Families, Friends & Family:

James 4:14 says, “Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away” We often quote this verse when witnessing to people to convey to them the brevity of life as well as the urgency to get saved, and rightly so. But the same is true for us as Christians. Life is short and we only have A LITTLE TIME to reach people with the gospel before it is eternally too late. The gospel is good news but it is great news only if it reaches the lost soul in time before they die. Oh how now more than ever, we need to be about our “Father’s business” (Luke 2:49) getting the gospel out. “Is the seed yet in the barn?” Haggai 2:19

Our website should be up soon. The site address will be http://www.mexico-missionaries.com. I had tried to build the site myself but it was becoming a very slow process. A missionary friend referred me to a Christian who is in the computer business and he graciously volunteered to help me with this project. Praise the Lord! By the next prayer letter, our site should be up and running.

Our support is starting to build and we have much potential and promises from churches in the future. Of course, with the dollar being weak, some churches are struggling and others choosing to add additional funds to their current missionaries instead of taking on new missionaries, which is a blessing to those already on the field.

It has been a blessing to be in a new church every service. It is exciting to see what God is doing. It is always encouraging after preaching to see a soul surrender to full-time ministry, which we have seen on a few occasions over the last couple months. Hallelujah! Truly there is a need for more laborers (Matthew 9:37).

It is also a blessing to see souls saved as we have seen some born again over the last couple months. We always try to be “soul sensitive” whether we are knocking on doors or while out traveling. Just recently in a church service after preaching, but before the invitation could be given, a woman was so convicted of her sin, that she came forward and stood at the alter waiting to be saved, and was born again. Glory to God!

William Booth (Founder of the Salvation Army) once said, “Not called!’ did you say? ‘Not heard the call,’ I think you should say. Put your ear down to the Bible, and hear Him bid you go and pull sinners out of the fire of sin. Put your ear down to the burdened, agonized heart of humanity, and listen to its pitiful wail for help. Go stand by the gates of Hell, and hear the damned entreat you to go to their father’s house and bid their brothers and sisters, and servants and masters not to come there. And then look Christ in the face, whose mercy you have professed to obey, and tell Him whether you will join heart and soul and body and circumstances in the march to publish His mercy to the world.”

Well, I must close. Please pray for us as we will for you. Bye for now.
