Wallace’s Missionary Prayer Letter April 1, 2025 (Feb. ’25 & Mar. ’25)
Dear Pastors, Friends and Family,
April 1, 2025 (Feb. – Mar. ’25)
Greetings in Jesus’ Name from Mexico City! We’ve had a great two months since our last prayer letter. We credit “good months” every month to God’s grace & help, and to your prayers that He answers. We had a Stewardship Conference in February that our church hosted, with visiting preachers as guest speakers, and other visiting churches. The conference was a blessing and spiritually edifying. It wasn’t meant to be an outreach event, but we had many first-time visitors, as well as some saved & baptized each night. Mary took a quick trip to Ohio to be one of the speakers at a Ladies’ Conference. She enjoyed it as did the others. The Spring semester of our Bible Institute started in February. A graduation is scheduled in May for several of the students. Our church attendance continues to be very good, and the workload continues to increase. I hired a young man as an intern, who is in our Bible Institute. His name is David. He is doing a good job and has a love for souls. He witnessed recently to an very elderly lady named Teresa. She was so ready to get saved after hearing the gospel, that she got down on her knees on the sidewalk in tears, calling on Jesus to save her. I hope to hire a youth pastor maybe in the next few months. On the other hand, if you know of someone from the U.S. (individual, couple or family) who is interested in more than just a mission trip, but maybe helping in missions, let me know. I believe God is still calling people from churches like those that support us, to serve in missions.
A lady named Marisol visited our church last month. She has cancer but while talking to her, she indicated if she were to die, she didn’t know where she would go. But after hearing the gospel, she trusted Christ as Savior. Martin is a man that Mary led to the Lord a year ago. He has been faithful to church every since. Martin hears and understands fine, but he had a accident years ago and when he speaks, he can’t be understood. When we go out as a church to minister, Martin loves passing out gospel tracts as he doesn’t have to speak. Often, Martin will stand in the middle of roads busy with traffic & will give a tract to each car that passed by and most accepted them. Several months ago, Mary witnessed to a young man named Moises, who works in a pharmacy. Moises was so close to being saved that day, but he said his boss watches the videos from the cameras in the pharmacy, and if he saw Moises not working, he would get fired. Moises didn’t get saved that day but a few weeks ago, as Mary & I were walking down the sidewalk passing out tracts, Moises came running out of the pharmacy. He said, “It is so good to see you again.” He told Mary, “I thought a lot about what you told me earlier about salvation, and I want to be saved … but here outside while my coworker covers for me.” I witnessed to Moises again, and he was ready. He then prayed, calling on Jesus to save him. A similar thing happened to me a week later while out knocking doors. I witnessed to 26-year-old Gustavo who was working at a chicken stand. We kept getting interrupted by customers, but each time I shared more, I could see by his facial expressions that the Lord was dealing with his heart. Since we kept getting interrupted, I continued down the street. On the way back up the street, returning to our van, Gustavo called me back over and said, “I want to be saved.” He then called on Jesus to save him. We minister weekly in one drug & alcohol rehabilitation center in our area, but we were recently made aware of another one. So, we went as a church a couple Saturdays ago and there were about 40 teenagers & men present. We gave them all Bibles & I preached the gospel and a good number got saved. We started discipling them during the last week. We went back last Saturday, and I preached again and a couple others got saved. We brought our portable baptistry (e.g. horse troth) and I was able to baptize 16 of them Saturday. Thanks for your prayers, support and for everything. We are “…your servants for Jesus’ sake.” 2 Corinthians 4:5.
