Wallace’s Missionary Prayer Letter October 1, 2020 (Aug. – Sep. ’20)

Posted on October 1st 2020

Dear Pastors, Friends & Family,

October 1, 2020 (Aug. – Sep. ’20)

Let me begin by thanking you for your prayers & support.  We appreciate you and are grateful for your sacrifice & generosity.  It is a blessing to see God’s faithfulness, too.  It is also encouraging to see people like you all with a burden for souls and your love for missions & missionaries.  We have again traveled several thousand miles each month these last two months.  Missions conferences started for us in August.  Apart from being in churches, it is a blessing to see people saved while out witnessing door to door, including some Hispanics.  Mary & I were able to lead a young lady named Ashley to the Lord in New York.  She was involved in drugs and witchcraft but the power of the gospel changed her life.  The pastor of that church sent us an update that she has been faithful to attend his church and growing spiritually.  Praise the Lord!

We are planning a short trip to Mexico later this month for a couple of weeks to check in on our church and to survey the new area we believe the Lord is directing us to.  We had to leave Mexico in a rush during the Coronavirus and not only did we not have time to pack and make a good, professional video like we would have liked, but we didn’t get to investigate well our next area.  We also need to look for possible a place to live that is safe and to find a building for the next church in the new area.  It is an area of at least 2 million people, and I know there is no other gospel preaching church there, much less a Baptist church.

We enjoy furlough, but we are looking forward to returning to Mexico next year.  We are excited about not only planting the next churches, but also continuing our Jewish & orphan outreach ministries.  Discipleship is always a vital part of church-planting and we plan to expand our Bible Institute.  We would like to also begin a large gospel literature distribution ministry, having ample material not just to supply our churches’ needs, but also helping other independent Baptist churches do the same in Mexico City, the country of Mexico and Central America.  This will require 18-wheeler shipments to us from the U.S.  Though not cheap, it will reduce our need to drive often to the border for gospel literature and subsequently avoid long, dangerous trips through Mexico.  We also want to begin next term outreach ministries to schools, military, sports & hospitals.  We welcome in advance anyone interested in making a mission trip with us for our next term and would love to have someone (or more than one person) visit to help with these new gospel outreach ministries.

In closing, I want to also thank you for your prayers for Mary’s dad, Jim Crawford Jr., who passed away last week.  What a blessing that he got saved near the end of his life and is now with our Saviour.  Please continue to pray for Mary and the family in his absence.  Thanks for everything!  We are praying for you too and we praise God for you all.  We are “…your servants for Jesus’ sake.” 2 Corinthians 4:5
