Pastors, Church Families, Friends & Family:  

The economy continues to affect many in one way or another.  How thankful we should be for our Lord’s promise to us in Psalm 37:25, “…yet have not I seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.”  Our security is not in the government, but in God who, according to the Bible, owns cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10)

Harry Ironside was a man who could preach but he could also pray.  One day when their ministry was in financial despair, he prayed about the matter with some other men.  Harry prayed, reminding God (who owned the cattle) of His promises, and asked God to sell some of His livestock for their needs.  The secretary knocked at the door shortly after, and introduced a visitor.  He was a cattle rancher whom God had spoken to and in his hand was the exact amount of money needed to keep the Lord’s work going there that he donated.  Hallelujah!  What a blessing that God not only hears but answers prayer, always providing for His work and His people.  So during these tough times, trust the Lord as you serve Him and continue to pray.

Mexico City had a real scare, as well as the rest of the world, through the swine flu.  Initially with the bombardment from the news media, my heart grew weak as I thought of the multitudes in the place that God has called us that might perish without the gospel if an epidemic ensued.  Thankfully God had mercy for now but oh how we desire to get to the field there while so many still need to hear the gospel.   I have had a few invites to return to Mexico and would love to but my schedule does not allow so at this time.  The Lord knows how our hearts yearn to be there permanently soon.

We had a great answer to prayer recently.  We have beseeched the Lord to call someone to help us reach the orphans in Mexico City.  After mentioning the great need while visiting a church in West Virginia, one couple said they believe God would have them come help us with an orphanage when we get there next year.  Glory to God!

It is always a blessing to see the pleasant surprises the Lord has for us as we travel and minister.  After a church meeting one Sunday night, a pastor allowed us to accompany him and be on his weekly radio broadcast.  That was a first for us but a month later, after a meeting at a different church, the pastor told me he broadcasted live my preaching to over a million people.  I am glad I didn’t know that at the time.

We continue to see souls saved as we obey God’s command to witness (Acts 1:8) in the way.  We also continue to be encouraged as we here testimony from God’s people of His working in their lives for the sake of souls, to His glory!

Though often tired, God has seen fit to keep us healthy and safe.  Praise the Lord!   We did have an incident a month ago where our little Stephen fell off of a bicycle and broke his arm.  I guess missionary children are still children at heart and still have accidents so praise the Lord it wasn’t anything worse.

We are starting to see some churches that we visited earlier during deputation  take us on for support as well as other recent ones.  Amen!  God and His people are so good.  Thank you to all of you that support us, pray for us and encourage us.
