Wallace’s Missionary Prayer Letter February 1, 2026 (Dec. ’25 – Jan. ‘26)

Posted on January 28th 2026

Dear Pastors, Friends and Family,
February 1, 2026 (Dec. ’25 – Jan. ‘26)

Greetings in  Jesus’ Name & Happy New Year!  We trust you all had a Merry Christmas.  Thank you for your prayers & support, as well as for the extra that some gave to us for Christmas.  Mary & I celebrated our 37th wedding anniversary in December.

One blessing of being on furlough is visiting family, especially for special holidays like Christmas.  In the last couple months we have been in Ohio, West Virginia, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee and Colorado. We have enjoyed seeing family and being in some supporting churches & a couple new churches.  What an encouragement to see God at work in so many good churches.  We miss Mexico very much, but it was great recently to be in one of our supporting churches and then the same day to be in their Spanish church.  As we travel during this furlough, we have seen so many more hispanics that have arrived in the U.S. in the last several years.  We love witnessing to them though many hispanics here have becomed “Americanized” and less receptive to the gospel, due to the money & benefits received in the U.S.  It is a blessing to see some Independent Baptist churches in the U.S. that have started Spanish church ministries to meet the need of reaching hispanics for Christ in the U.S.  Apart from being in regular church services, we have enjoyed speaking at some churches’ special events, helping some churches with their nursing home ministries and of course, knocking doors with churches, as well as witnessing to people on our own wherever we find ourselves.  There is nothing better that sharing the gospel and seeing someone trust Christ for salvation.  Not only has God kept us safe in our travels, but He has protected us along the way.  Recently, on a very cold Monday, I parked and ran into a Post Office but left the van running with the heat on since Mary stayed inside the van.  The Post Office was directly across from a jail and that day was their weekly prisoner release day.  Two men approached our van and saw it running but didn’t see Mary inside.  They lifted the door handle but it was locked.  Mary was busy reading with her head down and assumed it was me, so she unlocked the door.  She then looked up and saw it wasn’t me and locked the door quickly before they could try to open the door again.  Mary has been busy working on her music and it will soon be available in four-part harmony and for orchestras.  She is uploading her free music lesson videos on YouTube and updating her website to include the ten books she has written.

Things are going well at Hope Baptist Church in Mexico City in our absence.  A special donation from a supporting church made it possible for us to buy a bag of small gifts for all the orphans where we minister.  They were so happy.  Christmas and New Year’s celebrations went well at church there.  More people are being saved, attending the church, receiving Bibles and getting baptized & discipled.  It is a blessing seeing new families come and join.  One example is that of the Hernandez Family: Antonio, Carmen, Elizabeth and Caleb.  Antonio was saved while the church was out knocking doors recently.  His wife, Carmen, was saved afterwards when they attended our church for the first time.  Yahir was saved not long ago when our church was out ministering in the open-air markets.  He was very excited afterwards. Recently, Mexico City felt a strong earthquake that registered 6.5 on the Richter Scale, but thankfully there were no deaths nor major damage.

Please continue to pray for our furlough travels and for the church in Mexico City.  Thanks for everything.  We are praying for you all, too.  We are “…your servants for Jesus’ sake.” 2 Corinthians 4:5.
